I understand that you're using iTunes to restore your iPhone with recovery mode but the software download is taking longer than your iPhone will stay in recovery mode. I know it's important to use this method and I'd like to help. The software download to iTunes will continue even if your iPhone exits recovery mode. In order to restore the recently downloaded software, you'll need to put your iPhone back into recovery mode and start the restore process again. Because the software download will have completed, the restore process should start immediately.

If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits the connect to iTunes screen, let the download finish, then repeat step 3.

1. Launch iMazing on your computer and connect your device.

4. The three different device modes

When installing iOS on an iPhone or iPad, you will be in one of these modes:

  • Normal mode: This is the case when everything is working. You are reinstalling iOS because of a software glitch, but you can manage the device as usual. You may do this because of sync problems, or because certain apps quit unexpectedly, and still don't work after you've reinstalled them. In this mode you can still back up your device so make sure to do a backup before reinstalling iOS.

  • Recovery mode: In this case, iOS is not ready for use on your device. You'll see on the screen an iTunes icon and an image of a cable, prompting you to connect the device to a computer and install the software with iTunes. iMazing can work with the device when it's in this mode, but it cannot back it up. 5. Choose an installation type.

6. Installation progress

After you click Reinstall iOS, iMazing will use your selected method to install the software. If you've selected an .ipsw file, installation will take a few minutes.
